UKU/ BUCS University Women’s Indoor Regionals (UWIR) 2023-24


University Women’s Indoor Regionals (UWIR 2023-24) will be held on this weekend for all regions.

Entries are managed through BUCS. You must go to your AU so that they can enter you.

University teams are encouraged to have a Spirit Captain at all events. SOTG resources can be found here. Please ensure your Spirit scores are submitted promptly using the button which will be at the top of this page, ideally after each game or by the end of play on each day. Scored submitted after midnight on the last day of the event may not be included in Spirit data.

This event will follow the UKU Tournament Rules.

    • All players must have UKU Membership and be rostered to the relevant team on JustGO. Random roster checks will be carried out over the weekend - please ensure everyone has their student ID card with them. Full details on requirements for roster/eligibility checks can be found in the University Event Specific Rule Appendix of the UKU Tournament Rules.

    • Please only take water bottles and other essentials (such as inhalers) to the pitches. You must NOT have bags or other belongings on the sidelines. Only those playing current games should be on the pitches.

    • Post game calls and Spirit circles should be done off the pitches. Do not block public walkways or fire exits.

    • It is never worth endangering yourself or others to get the disc. Always be aware of other players and your surroundings.

    On arrival a representative from you team should report to the TD desk.

    Other info: No metal studs should be worn on the synthetic pitch. Moulded studs or cleats are recommended.

    There are important requirements about keeping bags at the edge of the room, and staying in certain areas when not directly involved in games. This is about maintaining the field in good condition, which affects the venue’s FIFA rating. Please respect these rules.

    This venue requires portable pitch lines. Please be careful when playing to avoid tripping over them.

    Drinking water fountains should be in operation.

    There is no food available on site and very few options within walking distance so we recommend bringing food for the day.

    Safety and Medical:

    Please remember that it is never worth endangering yourself or others to get the disc. You must remain aware of other players and your surroundings. Emergency first aid will be provided.

    Venue: Cranford Superdome, Cranford Community College, High St, Hounslow TW5 9PD

    Surface: Rubbercrumb

    Directions: The venue is best accessed from the M4 Eastbound/Westbound. Exit the M4 at J3, taking the exit onto the A312 (The Parkway) heading south at the roundabout. Take the first left onto High Street. Continue on High Street through 1 roundabout. Cranford Community College is on your left.

    Parking: If travelling by car or minibus, please use the car park to the north of the buildings. There is free car parking, but this is sometimes very busy so please give yourself enough time.

    Timing: Saturday 13:00-20:00, Sunday 13:00-19:00.

    Other info: There isn’t a café on site. There are vending machines selling drinks and small snacks. There are other options a short walk from the venue.

    Safety and Medical: First Aid will be provided by venue staff. Ice will be available from Front Desk

    Surface: Hardcourt

    Directions / Parking: There should be plenty of parking but we recommend that you do not leave any valuables in your vehicles during the day.

    Timing: Saturday 11:00-18:00, Sunday 09:00-16:30.

    On arrival a representative from you team should report to the TD desk.

    Other info: We cannot guarantee food will be available. Please ensure all players and participants bring a good packed lunch and lots of snacks.

    Please don’t take all of your stuff to the playing area. Essentials such as water or inhalers can be kept on the sidelines during play but they MUST be kept a safe distance from the edge of the pitch.

    Players should wear clean non-marking trainers. We request that players ONLY wear their playing shoes in the building and wear a different pair of shoes when outdoors both on arrival and during the event.

    Please remember that we are not the only users of the centre over the weekend so please refrain from blocking/throwing in front of doors or hallways.

    Safety and Medical: First aid will be provided by the venue staff, see reception.
