UKU/ BUCS University Men’s Indoor Regionals (UMIR) 2022-23


University Men’s Indoor Regionals (UMIR) will be held on this weekend for all regions other than Yorkshire and East Mids (which will be held on 5/6 Nov).

Venues, timings and details for each regional event (INCLUDING LINKS TO THE SCHEDULE) can be found below.

Entries are managed through BUCS. You must go to your AU so that they can enter you.

    • All players must have UKU Membership and be rostered to the relevant team on JustGO. Random roster checks will be carried out over the weekend - please ensure everyone has their student ID card with them. Full details on requirements for roster/eligibility checks can be found in the University Event Specific Rule Appendix of the UKU Tournament Rules.

    • Please only take water bottles and other essentials (such as inhalers) to the pitches. You must NOT have bags or other belongings on the sidelines. Only those playing current games should be on the pitches.

    • Post game calls and Spirit circles should be done off the pitches. Do not block public walkways or fire exits.

    • It is never worth endangering yourself or others to get the disc. Always be aware of other players and your surroundings.

    Venue: Cranford Superdome, Cranford Community College, High St, Hounslow TW5 9PD

    Surface: Rubbercrumb

    Directions: The venue is best accessed from the M4 Eastbound/Westbound. Exit the M4 at J3, taking the exit onto the A312 (The Parkway) heading south at the roundabout. Take the first left onto High Street. Continue on High Street through 1 roundabout. Cranford Community College is on your left.

    Parking: If travelling by car or minibus, please use the car park to the north of the buildings. There is free car parking, but this is sometimes very busy so please give yourself enough time.

    Timing: Saturday 13:00-20:00, Sunday 13:00-19:00.

    On arrival a representative from you team should report to the TD desk.

    Other info: No metal studs should be worn on the synthetic pitch. Moulded studs or cleats are recommended.

    This venue requires portable pitch lines. Please be careful when playing to avoid tripping over them.

    There is no food available on site and very few options within walking distance so we recommend bringing food for the day.

    Safety and Medical: First aid available near the TD desk.

    For serious incidents, the nearest A&E units open to all are Hillingdon Hospital, UB8 3NN and West Middlesex University Hospital, TW7 6AF

    Other info: There are vending machines selling drinks and small snacks. There are other options within walking distance.

    Safety and Medical: We have dedicated first aid cover the tournament, which will available near the TD desk or another visible location.

    We encourage teams to bring along small first aid packages that they might have for minor injuries.

    Timing: Saturday 13:00-21:00, Sunday 14:00-20:00

    This venue requires portable pitch lines. Please be careful when playing to avoid tripping over them.

    There is a café on site, but opening hours only overlap with the event for a short time. We recommend bringing your own food.

    Safety and Medical: First aid will be provided by the venue staff, see reception.

    Directions / Parking: M27 Junction 11 onto A27. Turn right after Tesco and then 2nd right onto Trinity Street. Venue will be on your left.

    Parking is available on site.

    Timing: Saturday 09:00-17:00, Sunday 09:00-15:00

    On arrival a representative from you team should report to the TD desk.

    Other info: There is a café and vending machines on site. Other food options are available within walking distance of the venue. Please do not take any food or drinks other than your water bottle to the pitches.

    Safety and Medical: First aid will be provided by venue staff. They can be found at either the gym or reception and they will source ice if needed.

    Directions/ parking: Follow directions to Sports Training Village. , and then continue onto East Car Park. Cost is £3 per day at the weekend with no time limit.

    Timing: Saturday 09:00-19:00, Sunday 09:00-17:00.

    Other info: There is a café on site and other options within walking distance.

    Safety and Medical: First aid will be provided by the venue staff.

    Surface: Hard-court

    Directions / Parking: Road access is via Western Avenue. Turn onto Excelsior Road (Tesco Extra turn off), at the roundabout take the first left and immediate first right into Talybont Student Residences.

    Parking is available at the sports centre - you will need to press the intercom at the gates to confirm you are playing at the frisbee tournament in the sports centre.

    Timing: Saturday 09:00-19:00, Sunday 09:00-16:00

    On arrival a representative from you team should report to the TD desk.

    Other info: There are only vending machines, but supermarkets and other food outlets are available within 3-4 minutes walk.

    Safety and Medical: First Aid is available from sports centre staff/reception - please also make TDs aware of any incidents or injuries that require first aid.

This event will follow the UKU Tournament Rules.

From 2022-23 onwards all university teams will be encouraged to be working towards having a Spirit Captain at all events. SOTG resources can be found here. Please ensure your Spirit scores are submitted promptly using the button at the top of the page, ideally after each game or by the end of play on each day. Scores submitted after midnight on the last day of the event are unlikely to be included in the SOTG data.
